I have exciting news to share! I mentioned in an earlier post that my beautiful niece was expecting her first child. (this is her and her handsome husband on their wedding day)
Little Monster has arrived! And he is perfect! I just want to snuggle him!
Unfortunately for me he lives a plane ride away so I sent some love in the form of a sweater.
I have Louisa Harding's Natural Knits for Babies and Moms and I love it! This is Milan and is the third sweater I have made from the book and I'm sure there will be many more. I used Berocco's Vintage yarn for this sweater. The pattern calls for toggle buttons and crocheted loops that you attach separately. I didn't care for the look because the sweater didn't really close well so I decided to use a traditional button band and buttons. I was happier with this end result. Next time I might try a zipper!

Start to Finish
I love finishing a project, especially when it has a special connection. The March Rockin Sock Club shipment was exactly that kind of project.
One of the patterns this month is by Irishgirlieknits, who I have the pleasure of calling a friend.
The name of this kit's yarn is My Wild Irishgirlie. I love this colorway!
Isn't it pretty all wound up too? Often club kits come in and I think "Oooh, that's pretty, I must do that next or soon". This one came in and it was "WOW! I must start this one right now!" And I did :-)
The pattern is great. It's interesting to knit, easy to memorize, and is visually attractive. Here is the cuff.
And the patterning continues onto the foot and toe. This is the first pair of socks I have made with a patterned toe. I wonder if I will notice it inside my shoes?
It didn't take me too long to complete the pair.
I'm looking forward to wearing them! Thanks for a great pattern Irishgirlieknits! I wish I was at camp with you and could show them to you in person.
The Details.......
Pattern: Slip Jig by Irishgirlieknits
Yarn: STR mediumweight in My Wild Irishgirlie
Needle: KP 2.25mm and magic looped
