I shared in the Stashdown Group on Ravelry that one of my goals for this year is to finish or frog every WiP I had on January 1st by the end of the year. I have finished my first project of the year! It is my Acorn Trail sweater.
There are a few things that I really love about this sweater. First is that the back is as beautiful as the front. Actually, it might be even prettier with the cable that runs up the center.
The yarn felt a little scratchy in my hands so I wasn't quite sure if I would like it. After a good long soapy bath though, it softens up quite a bit and the yarn blooms beautifully. The top picture is the back before blocking, the rest are after blocking. I think that you can see the difference in the look of the yarn even just from the pictures.
This is not a "wear next to the skin" yarn for me. I do have to wear a shirt under it, but it is a really warm sweater :-) I've been wearing it a lot this week with these cold, breezy days we've been having.
I found the perfect buttons for it too. It was hard to get a good picture of them, but if you click on the picture to enlarge it, you can see the leaf print on them. Perfect match for my Acorn Trail!
So... 1 WiP done, 20 to go! Here is the list of what I had as of January 1st. I wonder what it will look like December 31st.
